This blend was a true labor of love. My soul is complete when I find myself near the ocean (or the sea) no matter what continent. The sound of the ocean brings me peace, and its vast horizon, reminding me of limitless possibilities. Any kind of stress or anxiety is washed away as the sunlight filters comfort upon my wandering soul. I currently live in the Desert, which makes my longing to be near the ocean even greater. In JUNE of 2025, I created an on-spec blend (inspired by the shores of Malibu). Creating a fragrance that wasn’t completely SYNTHETIC was very important to me. This formula ratio is 70% NATURAL, which I’m very proud of! It was one of the more challenging blends that I’ve ever worked on. Its marine, salty notes intertwine with powerful grounding woody notes of balsam fir and atlas cedar. It resonates what my heart feels when I’m walking on a quiet beach, even during the winter. It captured my essence for comforting vibes and released a fury of freedom that one can only find when they’re near the ocean. This blend was submitted into the ART + OLFACTION + AWARDS for consideration, and MAY 1st I’ll find out if I’m one of the very fortunate TOP TEN finalists to be considered for The Golden Pear. Perfumers from all over the world are waiting as anxiously as I am. No matter what happens, I feel as though I captured the “Essence of the Ocean” and put it in a bottle.
